My primary research interest is to develop practical and efficient computational intelligence algorithms for various challenging problems, and especially computationally expensive optimization problems. In particular, I am focusing on evolutionary computation and swarm Intelligence algorithms. I consider various classes of optimization problems such as combinatorial optimization (scheduling & vehicle routing, network design and the automatic inference of complex networks), multi-objective & many-objective optimization, dynamic optimization, adaptive optimization, in addition to theoretic studies involving search space analysis. I am also interested in the co-evolution of artificial neural networks for machine learning applications.
