Sun Is Shinning

Introduction -
The original idea was to create a simple animation that utilized some of the ideas from the Maya 2 tutorial. One of the first thoughts that I had was the idea of using Maya's "dynamics" capabilitie to skip a stone on water that would then sink revealing a rich underwater world. Then after further thought and research into the idea I came across the images of Christian Lassen, and the print "Island Enchantment". I wanted to do an animation based on this work and since it is art showing the rich underwater world and the world above, it fit well with my original idea of the skipping stone. Now inspired with a little more complete concept I looked across the world wide web and the school library for real world images to be the inspiration for the models and animation. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but needed a sound clip to set the tempo of the piece. Ideally I wanted a classic Bob Marley track but I thought it would be to slow for a short 15-20 second animation. Fortunately I came across a house remix of "Sun is Shining" that had a faster beat and with the tempo now set I could start the modeling.
