Lab 1

Objective

• Install FreeBSD - that simple
  

Lab Component

• You will be give the install disk for FreeBSD 10.2. Install this on the lab computer, you may wipe the disk, use the entire disk.
• Install gnome3
• pkg install gnome3
• Install X Windows
• pkg install xorg
• Install firefox
• pkg install firefox
• Modify rc.conf
• add line gnome_enable="YES"
• From FireFox google "install gcc from package freeBSD"
• Test your installation, write a hello world program  in C.
• not sure we will need gcc, but lets get it installed.
  

Reward Requirements

• Present the above to your instructor the following week for credit.
