Brock Computer Science Students Excel in ACM Programming Competition

Brock University Computer Science students once again excelled at the ACM Programming competition held recently at McMaster University. Team Brock 1 placed 13th out of 123 teams from 65 colleges and universities throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, eastern Ontario, and Indiana. Team 1 finished ahead of Western, Queens, Carleton, Notre Dame, Windsor, York, Purdue, Ohio State and many more! Team 2 came in a credible 53rd.

Team members:
Brock 1: Robert Flack, Jonathan Ross, Graham Sharp
Brock 2: Alex Bailey, Dennis Ideler, Ryan Renna

Professor Sheridan Houghten was the coach and Professor Ke Qiu was the driving force.

"As always I am very pleased with the results. Once again our teams successfully competed against teams from much larger, "big name" universities; this says a lot about the quality of our students and of our program. The students are to be commended not only on the results but also on their teamwork and sportsmanship" stated Professor Houghten.

The Computer Science Department would like to thank all of the team members for their participation as well as students Joe Brown and Joe Peric for donating their time in preparing the teams for the competition.
