Microsoft Academic Alliance Program
What is the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA)
The MSDNAA program is a joint effort between the Microsoft Corporation and many Computer Science departments in post secondary school institutions. It entitles the departments to offer Microsoft development products to their students at a reduced rate, often times for free. In order for a student to be eligible you must be enrolled in at least one full credit in Computer Science courses the current school year (Note: the program for each year runs from July 1st until June 30th, at which time all accounts are deactivated until the Fall term). The software is provided for the purpose of software development, it is not just free software for all your computing needs at home and for your friends. The licenses are non-transferrable so if you install the software on your computer it is only a legal copy while you own that computer. Please understand that due to the fact this program saves a considerable amount of money in lab software costs administration of the distribution of this software is strict.
For more information on the program from Microsoft's perspective please see their website.
What software is available and how do I access it.
The MSDNAA software that is being used in our current course offerings will always be available from the site. There are also some other general interest titles which are configured, however due to resource limitiations not all the software that is offered from Microsoft will be configured for distribution. Please note: According to their policies, Microsoft Windows may only be installed to facilitate the use of other MSDNAA software and technologies such as Microsoft Visual Studio for instruction or research.
For access to the software that has been set up for the Computer Science department you can log in at:
