The animation is center around a crazy Santa Claus and a small beach front house in Bermuda. Santa after having one to many on his flight over the Atlantic Ocean ends up loosing his reindeer in the ocean deep, crashing into a house and thrown into a chimney. The crazy idea thought up by an insane Bermudian computer science student (Kim) and help brought to life by an even more diabolically insane Canadian (Rylan).

Scences

Indoor Scence

Average Frame Render Time 20sec about 3 hours in total

The inside scene was created mostly using basic objects, pieced together. A few items, such as the couches, the lamp shade, the fireplace, the initial Christmas tree balls and the picture of the stocking were borrowed aka free. The inside scene uses a lot of textures based from 3D studio material library. Out of the entire scene created, the Christmas tree was the hardest and most time consuming. Each little Christmas ball is created using the initial mesh borrowed, then on top another sphere is placed with a different texture selected from the 3DS objects provided and materials. The TV unit is based off mine at home.

Outdoor Scene

Average Frame Render Time 130sec about 24 hours in total

The outside ocean and land were created by following a tutorial to form the basics of water and land. A small ripple effect was used to simulate water moving. The reflective properties of the water were also adjusted in an attempt to create a more realistic water effect. The shire size of the scene in which santa flys through and crashes into the house with the water properties took longer to render then orignally thought, some camera views were unable to be render due to the time constraint of the project.

Character Meshes

Santa Claus

The Santa Character is based off a fat boy tutorial from 3d studio's for creating the mesh. The mesh was modified into a skin allowing us to create a bone structure. The bones allowed us to modifiy the body to give him advance mobility to create wackier things with him.

Particle stream was attach to Santa sleigh to give him a more a mystical powers look, and for the fact he lost the reindeer in the deep blue ocean.

Professor Ross

This character is neither a pun or a suck up, really we just lack orginality. The character is based off the santa mesh but made skinner and smaller to scale to be honest santa is a gaint.
